Laura is a research assistant at the University of Southern Queensland working on the endangered Condamine earless dragon.
SERENA NIELSEN
Policy and Governance
Serena, an environmental science graduate, serves as an HSEQ Officer, dedicated to continuously improving safety and environmental standards. Leading ESG strategies within her organization, she drives positive change in corporate sustainability practices and fosters environmental stewardship. Outside work, Serena actively supports environmental groups in the SEQ region, inspired by their commitment to enhancing and preserving nature.
KATE FLINK
Treasurer
Kate’s had the pleasure to spend most of her career working outdoors, with community, in protecting and restoring waterways and biodiversity in Brisbane. She currently works for Brisbane City Council, and volunteers with a number of environmental organisations who have a collective mission to protect nature, and human rights that are linked to climate change.
MARIACRISTINA SARACENO
Education Outreach Officer
Mariacristina coaches ambitious students and highly capable learners of all ages. She has an MSc in Applied Neuroscience and an MA in Diplomatic Studies. She's worked in the City of London and was Honorary Consul in Papua New Guinea. Mariacristina volunteers for a few environmental organisations, and has a special interest in Citizen Science (platypus, greater gliders, koalas, birds, humpback whales, dolphins, etc). She spends a lot of time in the forest or in the ocean with her 4 children.
YIQIAN LI (VICTOR)
Social Media Manager
Victor is a fresh graduate from UQ who studied quantitative biology and zoology. He is interested in exploring and helping with biodiversity conservation both physically using actions and digitally using data. Bugs are Victor's favourite group of animals, especially spiders.
